 Founded in 1938 Samsung is the world's largest electronics business and part of a Korean conglomerate with revenues nearing $175bn a year.
Apart from being the world's biggest ship-builder(!) Samsung also creates some pretty cool electronics. It's the largest producer of memory chips and second largest supplier of both semiconductors (behind Intel) and mobile phones (behind Nokia). It has used this manufacturing expertise to become one of the world's biggest producers of LCD screens and in 1995 overtookSony as the top consumer electronics brand a few years ago.  Whilst most microwave ovens are pretty standardised these days Samsung have created a range that incorporate distributed microwave technology (3 microwave antena allowing more even cooking of food), deodorising function, ditigal displays, child locks and steam bowls Samsung's microwaves are found under the ML product number prefix.
 Samsung's dual ovens allow you to cook different items ie main course and deserts at the same time, at different temperatures and without the problem of smells and flavours transfering to other foods - All this can be had in an oven the same size as a standard model.  Whilst its hard to make evolutionary changes to the way hobs work Samsung have packaged the usual features in some good looking appliances. Samsung's hobs are found under the C61R and GN product number prefix.
 Again a fairly standard kitchen item where design is the key factor for differentiating the product offerings. Samsung's cooker hood (yes only one) is found under the HC product prefix.
 Whilst less comon in Europe than other areas of the world Samsung's A/C units offer air purification along with cooling functions. Incorporating unique MPI technology and a shadow mirrored design they also look pretty good! Samsung's air conditioning units are found under the AQV product prefix.
 As pointed out in other manufacturer vacuum reviews its hard to beat a Dyson. Samsung machines incorporate the usual features but I'd still invest in a Dyson if your looking for innovation, great cleaning and ability and a compact form factor.
